EXTE's comprehensive structural concept for stabilizing roller shutter attachment boxes also includes the direct connection of the window frame to the ceiling or lintel. Thanks to the revised two-piece static console, this is now possible for every purpose, even when screwing from below is not possible. EXTE has now developed two new mounting sets for this purpose. New tests also show that fewer consoles are needed than before.
Two-piece static console — easy assembly
The two-piece static console connects the window frame or the patented special EXTE reinforcing iron clipped onto the window frame directly to the lintel or ceiling through special recesses in the shutter box. As a result of the formal fit, the wind load is transferred from the window to the structural console and from there to the building. To do this, the fitter inserts the static console into the special reinforcing iron through a cutout in the base profile or screws the lower part of the console to the frame. In case of an audit, only the lower part of the structural control panel is removed from the box. The upper part of the static console is delivered fully assembled in the box. The fitter only has to plug in the lower part on site and make the screw connection to the lintel or to the ceiling. Once installed, the top screw connection is permanently fixed and there is no loss of stability due to installation and removal.
New solutions specifically for external blinds
Since the external blind version does not allow the box to be screwed from below due to the on-site fit of the box on the window, EXTE now offers two mounting kits for installation outside the box. In variant 1 for suspended ceilings, the inner side of the box is screwed directly to the ceiling using a U-rail attached to the top. In variant 2 for exposed concrete ceilings, which are maximally plastered over, the external screwing is carried out at an angle directly on the lintel or on the masonry. Both solutions simplify and speed up assembly.
New static test with improved console
After the last test with the ITRS industrial association for roller shutters, EXTE has further developed the static console. In a new test, an element with a size of 3,000 mm wide and 2,700 mm high (including roller shutter box) has now been tested in all wind resistance classes. EXTE was able to reduce the required number of consoles to a minimum. This also saves time and money when it comes to materials and assembly.
