Confectioners and installers of roller shutter boxes save time and reduce the number of components. This is especially true when additional static measures are used. With a single and fully integrated static console, both are now possible. The new console is now available for the Expert XT and Elite XT roller shutter box systems.
The production of roller shutter boxes, as well as the assembly of the box on the construction site, is under great time pressure. If fewer parts are assembled, manufacturers benefit from roller shutter boxes. If fewer steps are required on the construction site, fitters gain valuable time. This applies in particular to window elements, which must be statically reinforced due to their size. With a new static console, Exte achieves clear advantages in both areas.
Integrated static console
The new static console is fully integrated into the roller shutter box as soon as it is assembled. Thanks to a movable latch made of glass-reinforced plastic, the console automatically snaps into the previously assembled special reinforcing iron after the box is placed on the window. A clipped self-adhesive cover cap reliably seals this area at the bottom. The top of the console was also redesigned. Thanks to the variable mounting solution, the lintel or ceiling can be screwed either from the inside or from below. The installation height on the box is only 6 mm. The top of the console is sealed on the box with a butyl adhesive pad. With a standard assembly joint of 10-15 mm, the box can therefore be easily installed together with the window.
Clear time savings even during installation
On the construction site, the box is placed diagonally on the frame of the window. The shape of the movable drop bar follows the shape of the previously assembled special reinforcing iron and automatically snaps into place. This is easy to do even with very wide elements with multiple consoles. The already fully integrated static console is now attached to the ceiling with two screws. For installation from the inside, the cover of the box is removed from the inside and the console is simply and quickly screwed on (Figure variant 1). If installation is required from below, the bottom cover is removed, the armour removed, the inner insulation removed and the console screwed (Figure variant 2). Boxes that are to be plastered over can be assembled from the inside without opening the box. Here, the plaster backing at the screw point is omitted during assembly. After screwing the console through the opening in the inner panel, the insulation wedge is simply glued in by the fitter (Figure variant 3).
A console for every construction situation
The new static console is equally suitable for the EXPERT XT and ELITE XT roller shutter box systems. The three installation variants allow the box to be inspected from the inside and from below as well as the inspection from the outside and the installation of external blinds with just one console. Five different console variants with different mounting solutions were previously used for the different installation situations and types of inspection. The reduction to a uniform solution minimizes the variety of parts and significantly simplifies assembly both in assembly and on the construction site. In addition, the console is suitable for all standard wall structures: monolithic, for clinker, in timber frame construction and for composite thermal insulation systems.
High resistance due to better statics
The new console also offers a significant improvement in terms of static values. The permissible load values according to ITRS guidelines reach the class in terms of resistance to wind load C4. The working load in accordance with ift MO-02/1 is 1.7 kN
