As part of the Building Energy Act (GEG), roller shutter box systems for new buildings and modernization must prove through test certificates that they meet the high requirements in the area of thermal insulation in accordance with the applicable standards. At the same time, the widest possible range of roller shutters, external blinds or screen hangings should be able to be integrated into modern systems in order to fulfill a wide range of design aspects and positively influence the indoor climate. Only a few manufacturers are fully able to do this. With 60 test certificates, the Wipperfürth-based roller shutter box specialist EXTE meets all GEG requirements.
Since November 1, 2020, the Building Energy Act (GEG), a uniform set of rules has been in force, which has replaced the previously applicable rules from EnEV, EnEG and EEWärmeG. The unified energy law has resulted in the renewal of test certificates in the area of thermal insulation for manufacturers of roller shutter box systems. In accordance with the applicable standards, the GEG requirements for the overall energy efficiency of buildings must therefore be proven. With a total of 60 test certificates for all systems and installation variants, EXTE provides planning security for customers and architects. All required values are met or exceeded.
The significant change to GEG 2020 for the roller shutter box concerns minimum thermal insulation and thermal bridges. With minimum thermal insulation (Usb/fRSi), proof must be provided in accordance with DIN EN ISO 10077-2:2018 -01 with amendment or adjustment for the treatment of cavities. This is specifically about the roll space of a box, e.g. for accommodating a tank or an external gate. In addition, according to DIN 4108 Supplement 2 in the 2019-06 edition, thermal bridge effects must be reduced. At the same time, the heat transfer coefficient (552) must be taken into account by the manufacturer with adjusted reference values and extended installation details. This is because the roller shutter box is added to the wall or window area in the calculation, depending on the type of box.
Also ideal for low-energy houses
Various types of inspections offer a suitable solution for every construction situation. With the internal audit, energy-efficient renovations can be implemented quickly. The revision below represents the standard solution for the new building and enables internal and external insulation. The external inspection results in an improved isothermal flow with optimized thermal insulation properties and complete airtightness, as the box can be completely plastered over the inside. The thermal insulation properties of the Elite XT roller shutter box system in the inside/bottom revision range from USB 0.73 about the external revision with USB 0.65 up to the external blind with USB 0.48 Roller shutter attachment boxes from EXTE therefore offer a suitable system solution for all low-energy house standards.
A variety of hangings and retrofittable insect protection
With a comprehensive range of guide rails, it is possible to include hangings from all common manufacturers. Whether classic plastic or aluminum armor or for large widths without dividing, shutter box systems from EXTE can be used anywhere. Screen hangings in attractive designs can also be used in a wide variety of ways: Thanks to a specially designed storage system, the hanging is quick and easy to install. A new aluminum guide rail and a spring-loaded insert, which keeps the curtain tight, ensure smooth operation. Even hangings with hidden stops can be installed without visible stoppers. If no insect protection is ordered at first, it can simply be retrofitted later. Thanks to an intelligent design, the drive can also be retrofitted in a short time. The Elite XT system therefore stands for high flexibility with a low number of parts.
Improving the room climate through integrated fans
With all EXTE roller shutter box systems, it is possible to integrate a fan unit. The roller shutter box is thus becoming a central part of room air conditioning and reducing humidity in the living room. The fan is integrated into the box insulation. Depending on the type of inspection and installation situation, the roller shutter box can then be completely plastered over so that only the control element of the fan unit remains visible on the inside. EXTE also offers test certificates in various versions for this combination.
Planning security through test certificates for download
Partners and customers receive all test certificates in accordance with the GEG 2020 in the customer center at www.etxe.de easy to download in a comprehensive document. In addition to overview tables, 60 reports on the areas of thermal insulation, sound insulation, airtightness, box-frame connection and statics are available there, each in the latest version.
