The new Building Energy Act (GEG) also means for roller shutter box systems that test certificates in the area of thermal insulation must be renewed in accordance with the applicable standards. With 60 test certificates, EXTE has now met the requirements for all roller shutter box systems.
On November 1, 2020, the new Building Energy Act (GEG) came into force and replaced the energy saving regulations EnEV, EnEG and EEWärmeG. A uniform energy law was thus created. For roller shutter box systems, this means that all test certificates in the area of thermal insulation must be renewed in accordance with the applicable standards. Evidence is therefore required to precisely represent the GEG requirements for the overall energy efficiency of buildings.
This task was fulfilled: With 60 test certificates for all systems and installation variants, EXTE now provides planning security for customers and architects. The required values are met or exceeded.
The significant change to GEG 2020 for the roller shutter box concerns minimum thermal insulation and thermal bridges. In the case of minimum thermal insulation (USB/FRSI), proof must be provided in accordance with DIN EN ISO 10077-2:2018 -01 with amendment or adjustment for the treatment of cavities. This is specifically about the roll space of a box, e.g. for accommodating the tank. In addition, according to DIN 4108 Supplement 2 in the 2019-06 edition, thermal bridge effects must be reduced and the heat transfer coefficient (552) must be taken into account by the manufacturer with adjusted reference values and extended installation details. This is because the roller shutter box is added to the wall or window area in the calculation, depending on the type of box.
